SolarTracker



Our goal is to create a tracking device to adjust the position of a solar panel so that the solar panel absorbs the optimal amount of solar energy. Most moveable solar panels today are on a timer and only move in one dimension. Ours would move in three dimensions, and instead of positioning the solar panel depending on the time of day, ours will be positioned depending on the amount of solar energy hitting the panel. We will be creating a scaled down model of the Solar Tracker. Some technical challenges we will face are constructing the mechanics of the tracker to move in three dimensions. Also we have to program a circuit board to activate the motors to move the tracker.
